Hootsuite is OK

Hootsuite is OK. It's not a great solution for serious marketers.
The navigation is a trainwreck. I think the old navigation was much better. It was odd seeing them do updates and the navigation getting messier!
Hootsuite has not evolved like their competitors. Their competitors offer many more features and functionality.
If you're a beginner, it's OK. If you're managing multiple accounts (or multiple clients), it's best to AVOID. You will need a substantial tool that is feature-rich.
Side Note: AVOID Fanbooster by Traject Social (previously Social Report). Although their platform has a lot of great features, the customer service is terrible. Social Report had a massive issue where Instagram was no longer able to be used by them. This caused a huge mess and 100s of angry customers. It was a very sketchy situation. Google "Social Report" and you'll see. One guy called it right, saying that they would rebrand. That's exactly what they did. I'm sharing this hear because their names are not yet in TrustPilot.

Hootsuite has been amazing in helping…

Hootsuite has been amazing in helping schedule LinkedIn posts for my business. The timezone feature allows me to schedule the posts based on various time zones and experiment to identify the best time to publish posts. Though I'm still on my 30 days free trail. it has simplified the job involved in publishing on LinkedIn.

Bill for an entire year - but great resolution.

I saw many issues about getting billed annually after the trial period, so I wasn't hopeful. I also thought it was going to be monthly billing after the trial. I got into contact with them 30-minutes after an entire annual subscription was taken from my PayPal and have since been refunded by wonderful customer service people on Facebook & Live Chat. Although, I think the standard should be a monthly subscription, I can't say enough about the fast action and friendly help I got afterwards.

AVOID HOOTSUITE AT ALL COSTS

Signed up for the free trial to decide if it was worth it. It wasn’t, so trying to cancel before trial ends so as not to get charged but they make it IMPOSSIBLE to cancel payments and even log into your account!
Apparently to cancel I can’t do it on the app. But to login online I need a code to be emailed to me to even log in - when I request the code it doesn’t come! Seems their plan is to take so long that they can then charge you!
The whole process is ridiculous and I would AVOID hootsuite at all costs!

Shady business practice

Do not sign up for the free trial unless you want to get charged for annual plan. I signed up for a trial and was charged $1458. I was testing out two different platforms and apparently didn't know that after the trial period, they will automatically deduct for an annual subscription. They don't give you a choice for a monthly plan even though I would have done so. This shady business practice made me move to a different platform.

They just stole $228 from my credit card

They charged me $228 for their auto renewal without any prior notice at all last year. I was so angry I cancelled the account (didn’t use it anyway as it was so restrictive).
Why the review now? They just charged again this year. I couldn’t double check today because the system wouldn’t allow me to log in. Why? I don’t have an account with them.
Yep. Even though I don’t have a customer account with Hootsuite anymore they still stole $228 from my credit card a year later, again with zero notice beforehand.

I got my refund

I recently had money taken from my account because somehow I had signed for 2 trial plans: free and team. I was not aware of the teams plans and after 25th June I got an invoice and money deducted from my account. I followed up and wrote a 1 star rating review on this site. I got a response from Hootsuite on my review and after 2 days I got my refund.
My 2 cents advise: Hootsuite must make cancelling trials easier (click 1 opt-out button and done)
Happy to get my money back...Thanx Hootsuite
